Events held at Before Your Quiet Eyes Bookstore in Rochester monthly with additional readings throughout the year.
The five groups that meet regularly at the store: Saturday Seminar of Sorts, Rochester Row, Just Poets, Ground and Sky Poetry Series, and Flower City Film Group.
Saturday Seminar of Sorts
Dr. David White facilitates a roundtable discussion examining the nature of philosophy both current and historical in our lives. Free and open to all at Before Your Quiet Eyes Bookstore 439 Monroe Ave. between Averill and Meigs, on the south side of the street. Meetings begin at noon most Saturdays and usually last about 90 minutes. We read the works of Bishop Butler for two years and are now about halfway through Plotinus. We also do a little David Hume on the side.
Just Poets is a local Rochester poetry group that meets monthly at Before Your Quiet Eyes. Just Poets meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm at BYQE.
Meetings will be the Third Monday of the month at the Before Your Quiet Eyes Bookstore 439 Monroe Ave. between Averill and Meigs, on the south side of the street. Meetings begin at 7:00PM and usually last about 90 minutes. We will also meet online via Zoom. Members will be notified by email of the meeting credentials.
The first Wednesday the Ground and Sky Roundtable meets every other month between Buffalo and Rochester, since both have been home to Ground and Sky since 2015. The third Friday of the month Ground and Sky Roundtable, Amber Light Edition is held. We offer no mic, no list, no podium; organic discussion of poetry and life. Every 3rd Thursday of the month (except April) at 6:00 pm.
